Identification #

Best identified by its triangular, star, or asterisk-shaped apothecia although some are rounded as well. Apothecia more immersed in the similar U. phaea. U. angulata also has a lower surface covered in rhizinomorphs which are absent on the lower surface of U. phaea (CLH).
