Identification #

Platismatia norvegica is a light green to brown foliose lichen which is similar to Platismatia lacunosa. P. norvegica has a network of thallus ridges which are not so pronounced as in P. lacunosa, and P. norvegica has isidia on these ridges which are absent in P. lacunosa (Brodo et al. 2001).

This species is found throughout the SE region north to the Chugach Range. P. norvegica is also found on Kodiak Island (Spribille et al. 2023)
