Identification #

White to cream colored lichen which produces light brown apothecia that may darken in especially sunny sites. No soredia or isidia but often with abundant black pycnidia along the lobe margins which sharpy contrast the white thalli.

Terricolous, we have collected two ramicolous specimens

A ubiquitous species throughout Alaska.
